Boat dive is one of the most recommended first-time scuba formats in Havelock because it reaches better dive sites and usually offers a more immersive underwater experience than a shore-entry dive. Operators commonly run these sessions from locations such as Turtle Beach and Tribe Gate, with a short briefing followed by boat transfer and an instructor-led dive.

Complete the operator's safety briefing and health declaration. Disclose asthma, heart, ear or respiratory conditions and confirm the minimum age with the dive centre. Follow instructor directions throughout.
Swimwear, towel, sunscreen, water, a change of clothes and government ID if requested at check-in. Avoid jewellery and heavy meals immediately before diving.
Use a registered dive centre and properly fitted equipment. Stay with the instructor, equalise as taught, never touch coral or marine life, and do not dive after alcohol or when unwell.
Dive timing, visibility and site may change with wind, tides, rainfall or sea conditions. The operator may delay, reschedule or cancel for safety.
Cancellation and rescheduling follow the selected dive operator's booking terms. If weather or authorities make the dive unsafe, ask for the next available slot or refund option before departure.
